The Santa Maria Arts Council kicked off their 2016 Grants Showcase at the Veterans Memorial Cultural Center on May 9. In attendance were members, patrons, and local artists. Since 1972, the Arts Council has donated $273,600 to 366 developing artists in the categories of dance, drama, music, and visual arts.
